What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files saved on your phone, tablet or computer when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember your choices and, if you allow it, tell us how the site is used. Some are set by us (first-party cookies) and some by services we use, such as Google (third-party cookies).

Your choice

When you first visit our site, our cookie banner asks which cookies you’re happy to accept.

Essential cookies are always on, because the site can’t work without them.
Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you say yes.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Essential cookies

These keep the site running: your basket, checkout, login and your cookie choices. They don’t track you around the web.

[consent cookie name] – remembers your cookie choices. Lasts: up to 1 year.
wp_woocommerce_session_ – keeps track of your basket and checkout. Lasts: 2 days.
woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart – help the site update your basket correctly. Lasts:until you close your browser.
wordpress_logged_in_ and wordpress_sec_ – keep you signed in to your account securely. Lasts: until you close your browser, or 14 days if you tick “Remember me”.
Stripe, PayPal and Revolut cookies – set during checkout to process payment securely and prevent fraud. Lasts:varies, set by the payment provider.

These tell us how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and how people found us, so we can keep improving it (and keep prices low). The information is grouped and doesn’t tell us who you are.

_ga – Google Analytics; distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts: 2 years.
ga[ID] – Google Analytics; keeps track of your visit. Lasts: 2 years.

These let us show our deals to people who’ve visited our site, and measure whether our adverts work.

_gcl_au – Google Ads; measures how adverts lead to visits and sales. Lasts: 3 months.
_fbp – Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel; shows our adverts on Facebook and Instagram and measures them. Lasts: 3 months.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site, such as the basket and checkout, won’t work. Help for each browser:
